Aside

If only you could return

I came for you, and you followed.
Together we flowed like a rivulet.

The obstacles we faced them boldly,
We curved through bends swiftly,
And with freezing ease.

Your words were my strength.
Like grease in my joints,
And oil in my toes,
I followed with diligence.

Now that you’re gone,
Without a solacing word,
Am like a toddler
Let free from mother’s lap
Stumbling in every step.

You’re the joy I knew,
The laughter I’d mastered.
Unfathomable peace you were.
Your aura is one of a kind,
That even kings
Would trade with their castles.

Now am all alone

In a world of jeers
Only your memories
Give me a rude company.
The parks we knew
The cafes we ate in,
Are nothing but haunting shadows.

If only soon
Would be the time you return
Perhaps my heart would breath
In the freshness of the bygones.
In a tumult I dream
Yours hands around me
Your head on my chest,
It is only a dream.
